Short project description

The infectious diseases epidemiology service of Sciensano collects pseudonymised personal data in order to monitor the number of diagnoses and follow-up of HIV patients. These personal data collected come from the AIDS reference laboratories and from the convened HIV/AIDS reference centres.

The registration of nucleotide sequence is necessary for the epidemiological analysis of retroviral drug resistance as a function of the characteristics of HIV-positive individuals. To this end, HIV sequences collected from AIDS reference laboratories should be interpreted in terms of the presence of resistance.
