Brief project description

The overall objective of the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) project is to incrementally implement NGS technology in routine cancer research over a five-year period. The collection of NGS data can add significant value for quality assurance, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), optimisation of reimbursement mechanisms and future research, and this both for applications within the clinical sector and in the field of public health.

The specific aims of the NGS project are: first, to verify the scope of the tests used, as defined by the NIHDI in the NGS convention. These tests will be included in the Article 33 and Article 33bis nomenclature codes concerning genetic tests.
