Description générale de l'application metadata.healthdata.be

Dans le cadre du Point d'Action 18 (« Inventaire et consolidation des registres ») du Plan d'Action eSanté 2013-2018, une enquête a été envoyée en 2014 par le département healthdata.be de Sciensano (alors Institut scientifique de santé publique) aux gestionnaires d'une base de données belge contenant des données de santé et/ou de soins de santé. Cette enquête demandait aux gestionnaires de décrire les métadonnées (techniques et non techniques) de la base de données qu'ils hébergent. Ces informations ont ensuite été publiées par healthdata.be sur la plateforme de données ouverte https://fair.healthdata.be.

In 2015, the eHealth Action Plan 2013-2018 was updated. The following new action was added to Action Point 18: "A publicly accessible web application with a detailed inventory of all recurrent scientific data collections in the field of health and healthcare that exist in Belgium and support policy is permanently updated". To support this action, the original survey was made available again by the healthdata.be department via the portal https://metadata.healthdata.be. This metadata portal contains, for each project or database, the original metadata (2014) as published on the open data platform https://fair.healthdata.be. The adjustments to the metadata portal are automatically published every day on the open data platform https://fair.healthdata.be.

The updating of the metadata portal by the managers of the databases concerned is also an essential part of the FAIR data policy envisaged by the Minister of Public Health.
